A Word From the Board: May is National Military Appreciation Month
Board President Lee Waters shares his thought on National Military Appreciation Month.
May is National Military Appreciation Month! We at FSUSA are proud and grateful for every person who has dawned our nation’s uniform!
THIS from our Board President, Lee Waters…
“I, (name), do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic…” These are the words a valiant few will proclaim with right hands raised and sign a blank check issued to the United States with the possibility of ultimate payment of life.
In fact, approximately one percent of the nation’s valued youths will chose this path.
A little more than twenty years ago, Congress designated that the entire month of May be known as Military Appreciation Month. Annually, the President will make a proclamation for America to honor and remember all who have donned the uniform of the Armed Forces.
“Military Appreciation Month recognizes the service members who selflessly put their lives on the line to guard our borders, protect our freedoms and stand up for democracy,” —U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Paul D. Rogers.
Whether in peace or war, without hesitation or reserve, our faithful few in a moment’s notice will do all that is required of them.
Thank you! – Lee Waters
